A man from Uttar Pradesh has been booked by the local police after allegedly subjecting his wife to mental and physical harassment driven by his obsession with Bollywood dancer and actress Nora Fatehi. The shocking incident came to light after the woman filed a police complaint, detailing how her husband repeatedly forced her to work out at the gym for three hours every day in an attempt to emulate the looks and physique of the star.

According to the complaint, the man incessantly compared his wife to Nora Fatehi, known for her glamorous performances in films such as ‘Street Dancer 3D’ and ‘Bhuj The Pride of India’. The woman alleged that her husband used to taunt her about her appearance and pressurised her to match the fitness level seen in Fatehi’s dance routines. Failing to meet his demands would reportedly result in frequent arguments and further mental distress for the wife.

The police stated that the woman endured months of torment before finally seeking help. She claimed her husband even enrolled her in a local gym and monitored her exercise sessions, insisting that she spend no less than three hours daily working out. Officers investigating the case noted that the husband’s behaviour not only affected the woman’s physical health but also took a serious toll on her mental well-being.

The authorities have registered a case against the husband under relevant sections connected to domestic violence and harassment. Officials confirmed that counselling has been offered to the wife and, as part of their inquiry, statements from neighbours and gym staff are being collected to corroborate her allegations.

The incident has triggered widespread discussion around body image pressure and the negative impact of celebrity obsession on relationships. Police urged citizens to foster mutual respect within marriage and raised awareness about the legal recourse available to victims of domestic abuse.
