The State Department reported that the US proposed $920 million in extra humanitarian aid for Syria on Thursday during a conference in Brussels.
According to a statement from the department, the announcement raises the total amount of US humanitarian aid sent to Syria and the surrounding area this year to $1.1 billion and to about $16.9 billion overall since the conflict there began.
