Users of the iOS beta version of WhatsApp, the messaging service owned by Meta, will soon be able to start group calls with up to 15 other users. Previously, group calls could accommodate up to 32 participants, but only 7 persons could start a call. The group call can still hold up to 32 people with this upgrade, but beta users can now choose up to 15 people to join it.
With the help of this new function, customers will find it easier to set up group calls with additional participants. Some beta testers who installed the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app are currently receiving the upgrade.
Users are now able to send high-definition movies thanks to a new feature the platform added earlier this month to the iOS beta. Although the function maintains the video’s original size, some light compression is still used. Sending videos at their original quality is therefore impractical. Users will have to explicitly pick the high-quality option anytime they want to send a video with better quality because the default setting for all videos will be “Standard quality.” A tag will be added to the message bubble to alert the receiver that the video was transmitted using the high-quality option when this option is selected.
WhatsApp intends to keep its position as one of the top messaging services on the market by offering features like group calls with more participants and enhanced video quality.
