Today, Chandigarh Airport witnessed a surprising quarrel involving CISF personnel and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is also a newly elected Member of Parliament from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. During a routine security check, a female CISF constable named Kulwinder Kaur allegedly slapped Kangana. This incident reportedly stemmed from Kangana’s controversial comments about Punjabi women participating in the farmers’ protest. Who is Kulwinder Kaur?
Kulwinder Kaur is a 35-year-old CISF constable and a mother of two children from Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab. She has been stationed at Chandigarh Airport for the past two years. Her husband is also a CISF personnel, and her brother, Sher Singh, is a prominent farmer leader, serving as the organization secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee.
The incident occurred in the airport’s Security Hold Area (SHA), where passengers are frisked before boarding their flights. Kangana Ranaut was preparing to board flight UK707 to Delhi when the situation escalated.
Kangana Ranaut’s Statement
Following the incident, Kangana Ranaut released a video statement detailing her experience. She claimed that after completing the security check and while waiting to pass, the CISF officer approached her and slapped her without any apparent reason. “When I completed the security check and was waiting to pass the woman security officer, she came towards me, hit me, and started abusing me. When I asked why she did it, she said she supports the farmers,” Ranaut said in her video message. Currently, in response to the incident, Kulwinder Kaur has been detained, and the CISF has initiated an investigation by forming a panel to look into the matter.
