After years of insistence from fans, Zack Snyder was finally allowed to release his Justice League version, which will be shown on HBO Max in a few days. We have seen many new images in recent weeks, even of Jared Leto ‘s Joker, which has not been seen since Suicide Squad . Now the director has revealed why Leto is returning.
Leto’s Joker was featured in the trailer not long ago, in which he makes an appearance in the last few seconds and the famous phrase “ We live in a society ”pronounces. Despite the fact that most fans thought it was cool to see Joker again, it came as a bit of a surprise, mainly because Leto’s Joker version was not well received.
The reason
It was to be expected that there is a lot of extra footage in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. His version lasts no less than four hours and we will (mainly) get to see more of Cyborg, Darskeid and even Martian Manhunter.
Snyder now speaks about Joker: ” I wanted him in the movie too, because it’s the last movie I’m making for DC. I have already had several superhero films to my name, but Batman has never met Joker and that just felt strange . ”
Planning
The director wanted it to happen now: ”I’ve had long conversations with Jared about it, to get the best picture of it. I also talked about it with Ben. I said to him, ‘Let’s just shoot it at my house, in the garden. Don’t talk to the studio about it, because I’m not paying you for it, but I still want to make this happen! ‘ ”
Snyder’s wife, Deborah, producer of Justice League, but said this was not easy. The Batman Joker scene was shot in three days, but they really needed that time. Due to the COVID regulations, the actors were not allowed to be together for the scene in question and they had to be filmed one by one, which meant that the work had to be very precise.
