    Fact Check: Now Laxmi faces The Fake News of ‘Chhapaak’

    Recently, a Facebook post claimed Some controversial statements about Laxmi Agarwal. Post says that Laxmi blamed Deepika Padukone and film director Meghna Gulzar that they did not reveal it to her that the name of her acid attacker was changed to a Hindu name ‘Rajesh’ in the film.

    As we know, Chhapaak is based on the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. But now, the movie is in controversy because of some social media news. One of the latest social media post which is going viral. The post says, Laxmi Agarwal confronted Deepika Padukone and film director Meghna Gulzar saying they did not reveal it to her that the name of her acid attacker was changed to a Hindu name ‘Rajesh’ in the film.

    But now, India Today’s Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found this news to be fake. Also, Laxmi has not made any such statement.

    The Facebook page named as Mission Modi Posted Laxmi’s Photo with the quote below.

    “The name of the acid attacker is Naeem Khan (Muslim), but the name has been changed to Rajesh (Hindu) in the movie Chhapaak. So why Deepika and film director Meghna Gulzar kept this fact hidden from me?”

    AFWA headed to Laxmi Agarwal’s official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts but did not find any such statement. Also, they didn’t find any media report supporting the claim. Hence, it is clear that Laxmi has not made any such statement on Deepika Padukone or Meghna Gulzar.
