It is often assumed that many excellent Bollywood films are Hollywood knockoffs, and occasionally this is accurate. True, though, that Bollywood continues to produce a large number of these films that Hollywood imitates. Additionally, there are a few Bollywood films on this list that Hollywood imitated with great success. Here is a list of Hollywood films inspired from Bollywood films.

    Pearl Harbour inspired from Sangam

While Pearl Harbour debuted in 2001 with Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, and Kate Beckinsale in the lead roles, Sangam was released in 1964 and starred Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar. Both films have similar plots that feature two pals and one romantic interest.

Hitch inspired from Chhoti Si Baat

One of the greatest Hindi comedic romance films of 1976, it starred Amol Palekar, Vidya Sinha, Ashok Kumar, Asrani, Dharmendra, and Hema Malini. In addition, Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James starred in the romantic comedy Hitch, which was released in 2005. The main character of both films is a man who tries to show his love but is never successful until finally succeeds.

    Fear inspired from Darr

One of the greatest Hindi films ever made, Darr: A Violent Love Story, starring Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sunny Deol, was released in 1993. Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon, William Petersen, Alyssa Milano, and Amy Brenneman starred in the 1996 film And Fear. Both of these films have a similar plot: a lovely woman, unaware that she is loved by someone else, falls in love with a kind man.

Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! inspired from Rangeela

Jackie Shroff, Urmila Matondkar, and Aamir Khan appear in this Ram Gopal Verma-directed film. When this film was first released in 1995, the public responded quite positively. On the other hand, Josh Duhamel, Kate Bosworth, and Topher Grace appeared in the 2004 film Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!

Just Go With It inspired from Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya

Cast included Isha Koppikar, Arshad Warsi, Katrina Kaif, Sushmita Sen, Sohail Khan, and Salman Khan. 2005 saw the release of this film, which David Dhawan directed. Alongside Adam Sandler, Nick Swardson, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, and Brooklyn Decker, And Just Go With It was published in 2011. The 1969 hit American screwball comedy film “Cactus Flower” served as the inspiration for both of these productions.

Leap Year inspired from Jab We Met

Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, this romantic comedy film debuted in 2007 and has since become a cult favourite in Indian cinema. Leap Year, on the other hand, starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode, was released in 2010. As a result of the leads’ lack of chemistry, this film received harsh criticism.

Common Man inspired from A Wednesday

Neeraj Pandey’s film A Wednesday, which starred Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepal Shaw, and Aamir Bashir, was released in 2008. In 2013, Chandran Rutnam’s film And A Common Man, which starred Ben Kingsley, Ben Cross, Patrick Rutnam, and Wilson Gunaratne, was released. Officially, this movie is a remake of the Bollywood picture A Wednesday.

Delivery Man inspired from Vicky Donor

2012 film Produced by John Abraham, Vicky Donor is a highly sought-after and distinctive film featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam, Annu Kapoor, and Dolly Ahluwalia. In 2013, Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, and Cobie Smulders released Delivery Man. Vicky Donor, which was influenced by the Canadian film Starbuck, served as a major inspiration for this film.
